Lida Ann Ransom

Lida Ann Ransom, 86, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2023 at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community in Idaho Falls.

Lida was born on April 23, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Herbert Sylvestor Poore and Ila Ellen Freeman Poore. She was raised in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School.

Lida worked for Mountain States Telephone Company, Bank of Commerce, and Pizza & Pastry in Ririe. She enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, golfing, camping, and knitting.

She married the love of her life, Vincent Galen Ransom on January 16, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully serving in many callings such as Relief Society President, Compassionate Service, and others.

Lida is preceded in death by her sweetheart Vincent; parents, Herbert and Ila; her sisters Nelda Thorington and Colleen Lundquist; and brothers Carl Poore and Louis Poore.

Lida is survived by her daughter Gaylene (Jim) Ker of Shelley, granddaughter Sasha (Chris) Worrell; great-grandchildren Angilique, Kylee, Kyra and Christopher, great-great-grandchildren Raiken, Koen and Tateyn.

Funeral services for Lida will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main St. Rigby ID 83442) with a viewing prior from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
