Lila May Baron, age 82, died at her home in Rigby, Monday, August 3, 2009. She was born May 2, 1927, in Burton a daughter to John Richards Beardall and Margaret Painter Hill Beardall. She attended schools in Burton and Rexburg, graduating from Madison High School. On November 15, 1946, she married Victor James Baron in Burton. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 14, 1951.
Lila is a member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings. She served a mission with her husband Victor in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission from 1984 to 1985, was a temple ordinance worker, quilted for humanitarian services, and especially enjoyed the youth and their activities. She was an ESA Sorority member, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, and bow shoots.
She is survived by her daughters Gail Hess of Rigby, Nancy Justesen of Idaho Falls and Julie (Clayne) Hanson of Rigby, sons, Wayne (Cathy) Baron and Von (Rosana) Baron both of Rigby, a sister Arile Ottesen of Nevada, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Tony a sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Rigby Idaho East Stake Center with Bishop Brett Olaveson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
