Lila Devera Christensen

Lila DeVera Christensen, age 86, of Lewisville, died in Lewisville, Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Lila was born June 13, 1919 at Woodville, Idaho, the daughter of James Edward Cook, and Christina Magdlena Buchmiller Cook. Lila grew up and attended schools in Grant, Lewisville, and Roberts, Idaho. She attended Midway High School and Roberts High School. Lila was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served in the Primary, Y.W.M.I.A, and Relief Society. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher. She worked for Fresh Pak in Lewisville for 32 years as a Lab Technician. Lila enjoyed her family, and watching her grandchildren participating in sports. She enjoyed sewing, and flowers, especially roses. Survivors include one daughter Colleen (Wes) Oswald of Boise, Idaho. One son Kent (Faylene) Christensen of Lewisville, Idaho. Two sisters, Melba (Oscar) Maas of Roberts, Idaho, and Reva Maas of Filer, Idaho. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, UnaDee, and one son Arvin Fay. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lewisville 1st. Ward L.D.S. Chapel, with Bishop James Gneiting officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Friday 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel in Lewisville.
