Linda “Lin” D. Barry, 79 of Rigby, Idaho, passed away at her home on June 11, 2025.
Lin was born on August 11, 1945, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Mike Martin and Edith Fistler. She later graduated from high school in San Jose, California. Throughout her life Lin lived in both Humboldt County, California, and Jefferson County, Idaho, eventually settling in Rigby where she spent nearly 20 cherished years.
She was married for 30 years to Clinton “Doc” Barry Sr., and enjoyed many years together.
Lin had a successful professional life. She retired from U.S. Bank, where she served as a bank manager and also worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Renner Petroleum.
Lin was a member of the Baptist Church. She was also known for her many passions, including quilting, and bowling. In her younger years, she was a talented bowler-so much that this is where “Doc” and Lin met bowling in leagues. The same hands that cradled bowling balls were also quilting hands that created many handmade items.
Above all, Lin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Lin is survived by her husband “Doc” Barry, of 30 years. Son, Mike Stoker of Arcata, California, son, Steve Stoker of Rigby, Idaho, granddaughter, Alyssa of Blackfoot, Idaho, and step son DJ Barry, Jr and family of Rigby. Last, but not least, her “Baby Girl” Cinnamon, a 6-pound Chihuahua.
She is preceded in death by her parents Myron and Edith Martin, her grandparents Augist and Ruth Fistler, her grandmother Eva Shugar, and her dad’s half-sister Rita Shugar.
In her own words, Lin wished to thank all of you who are present today to honor her life. She wanted to leave you with this thought: there is one word we should never say- “goodbye.” That is a word that is too final. Instead, hold on to the love, the laughter, and the memories we shared.
Graveside service will be held Friday, June 20th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
