Lloyd O. Andersen

Lloyd O. Andersen, 84, of Rigby, passed away Sunday February 15, 2009, at his home, under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. He was born January 8, 1925 in Ririe, to Artemissia Clark and George A. Osborne. He lived in the Rigby and Star Valley areas until 1934 when he was adopted by the Ellie O. and James H. Andersen family. He graduated from Rigby High School, May 1945. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Northern States Mission. He also served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple as a temple officiator. Lloyd was employed in construction and assisted his father, James Andersen in the bee business which he took over. He is survived by his wife Lois of Rigby, two children: James Eric (Judy) Andersen of Rigby, and Theora LaRee (Brett) Lundberg of Idaho Falls, three sisters: Cloy (Avon) Wilde of Roberts, Beverly (Derold) Coles of Idaho Falls and Elizabeth (Kerry) Lewis of Pleasant Grove, Utah, five brothers: Kermit Clark of Idaho Falls, Don (Gloria) Andersen of Iona, James Andersen of Rigby, Albert (Debra) Andersen of Billings, Montana, and Joe (Connie) Andersen of Idaho Falls, 10 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, 3 brothers, and 1 grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Clark Ward Chapel, 198 N. 4300 East, Rigby; the family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Contributions may be made to Aspen home Health and Hospice, 3470 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls, ID 83404, or to a charity of your choice.
