Lloyd Read Hardy, age 59, of Rigby died Sunday May 28, 2006 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Lloyd was born February 27, 1947 at St. Anthony, Idaho to Read Benjamin Hardy and Lela Irene Jensen Hardy. He attended schools in St. Anthony graduating from South Fremont High School. He played all sports in high school. He served with the Idaho National Guard and later served a mission for the LDS Church to Ireland. He married Jean Arlene Thomas, July 11, 1969 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked in Cathodic Protection for the Site and later started his own corrosion business. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving as assistant to the High Priest Group Leader and as a Temple Worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. He had served as High Priest Group Leader, Elders Quorum President, on the Rigby Stake High Counsel, as Ward Activity Chairman, and as president of the Young Men’s organization several times. He had a great sense of humor was a friend to all and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, his grandkids, traveling with his wife and playing games.
He is survived by his wife Jean Arlene Hardy of Rigby, 2 daughters: Tara Lynn (Jason) McClellan of Meridian, Idaho, Tamara Melissa (Tom) Tanner of Idaho Falls; three sons: Ryan Read (Kristi) Hardy of Idaho Falls, Regan Lloyd (Crystal) Hardy of Idaho Falls, Tyler Thomas Hardy of Rigby; his mother Lela Hardy of Rexburg; three sisters: Verlene (Leon) Hansen of Middleton, Idaho, Marilyn Moran of North Stonington, Connecticut, Leann (Bruce) Jones of Shelley, Idaho and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father and two daughters Heather Jean Hardy and Heidi Irene Hardy.
Funeral services will be held in the Garfield LDS Church, 71 N. 3700 E, Rigby, Monday, June 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Brian McClain of the Rigby 11th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Monday from 11:30 to 12:45 at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
