Lloyd B. Harrison, 86, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was a hardworking, faith-filled leader and a man of many talents—an artist, carpenter, mechanic, teacher, missionary, temple worker, husband, father, grandfather, and a true jack-of-all-trades.

Lloyd was born on October 14, 1938, in Rupert, Idaho, to Austin Albert Harrison and Edith Bywater Harrison. From a young age, he learned the value of hard work, thinning sugar beets, milking cows, and putting up hay on the family farm. When he wasn’t working, he spent his youth playing sports, hunting, fishing, and swimming before graduating from Grace High School.

While working in Salt Lake City, Lloyd met his sweetheart, Ileen Clark. They were married on February 3, 1961, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Lloyd had a deep love of learning and earned a degree in Education from Utah State University. Shortly after, he and Ileen settled in Rigby, where they became longtime residents.

Lloyd began his career as a teacher at Rigby High School, where he taught various subjects, but was most passionate about history and art. His artistic talents extended beyond the classroom, and he spent much of his free time painting landscapes and temples. Many will remember the sketches he lovingly created of family, friends, and students. He also had a deep love for sports through participating, coaching, and later in life a proud supporter of his grandchildren’s events.

Later in his career, Lloyd earned a degree in Health Physics and worked as a senior dosimetry technician at the Idaho National Laboratory. His commitment to education was evident not only in his own career, but in the encouragement and support he provided to his children and grandchildren in their academic pursuits.

Lloyd had a profound love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, he served a mission in New Zealand, and later, he and Ileen served together in Tulsa, Oklahoma and New Zealand. They also dedicated over 25 years as ordinance workers in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples, a service they both cherished. He loved to share his testimony.

Beyond his professional and church service, Lloyd enjoyed working on his home and caring for his lawn, building and remodeling projects in Rigby and Star Valley, and spending time outdoors boating and snowmobiling.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Ileen Clark Harrison of Rigby, and their children: Lauralyn (Bryce) Sargent of Blackfoot, ID; Laurene (Steven) Woolf of Rexburg, ID; Lawrnel (Julie) Harrison of Elgin, SC; Lawrdel Harrison of Rigby, ID; and Lawrnde (Elisa) Harrison of Lander, WY.  He is also survived by his Brother Val (Jan) Harrison, and Sister-in-law Sharon Harrison, 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd’s life was defined by hard work, faith, and love for his wife and family. He leaves behind a legacy of service, learning, and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him.
