Loa Lee Hansen, 77, of Burton, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
Loa was born January 3, 1937, in Hibbard, Idaho to Oliver Fisher Lee and Violet Mina Pfost Lee. She graduated from Madison High School in 1955 then continued her education at Ricks College; she graduated in 1960 and received her Teaching Certificate. On September 16, 1955, she married Vearl LaVar Hansen in Hibbard, Idaho; they were blessed with 4 sons. In addition to being a devoted wife mother and grandmother, Loa worked as a Realtor and Bookkeeper throughout her life.
Loa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served as a Visiting Teacher as a Mia Maid Leader, and in the Cub Scouts. She was a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the Upper Valley Board of Realtors, Secret Pals Card Club and a Thursday Morning Bowling League. She loved camping, snow machining and flowers in her yard. She was an avid reader, a quilter, scrapbooker, and enjoyed painting. Later in life she enjoyed going to the Idaho Falls Farmers Market and car shows with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Vearl LaVar Hansen, of Burton, sons, Clinton Lee (Jeanine) Hansen, of Hibbard, Christopher LaVar Hansen, of Burton, Clifford Vearl Hansen, of Burton, Clark Kay (Joyce) Hansen, of Burton, sister, Elizabeth (Lee) Hyder, of St. David, Arizona, brother, Oliver Larry (Carolyn) Lee, of Terreton, Kenneth Ray (Shawna) Lee, of Hibbard, and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Burton East LDS Church, 2332 W. 2000 S., Burton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
