Lola Faye Blackburn Hill

Lola Faye Blackburn Hill, 86, of Idaho Falls, died January 21, 2005 at the Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Facility, of natural causes as well as a broken heart due to the passing of her husband just four months earlier. She was born November 13, 1918 in Sunnydale, Idaho to Heber Blackburn and Leona Bybee Blackburn. She graduated from Madison High School and worked as a maid at Big Springs Resort where she met Perk, her husband of 63 years. On May 7, 1942, she married Pershing Johnson Hill in Seattle, Washington while he was on leave from the Navy during World War II. She operated as a licensed beautician while staying home and raising four boys. She enjoyed home making, baking, playing piano and playing bridge with her friends. She had a wonderful and loving personality and was a dedicated mother and wife. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her four sons, Dr. Pershing Johnson Hill Jr. (wife Mimi, son Zachary, daughter Kate), of Anchorage, Alaska, Glade Blackburn Hill (wife Marjie, son Aaron, daughter Sahra) of Aurora, Colorado, Dr. K. Burnell Schaetzel-Hill of Olympia, Washington, (wife Laurie, son Logan, daughter Terra), and Casey Blackburn Hill of Idaho Falls (wife Donna, sons Ian and Isaac); two sisters Iola Hill of Arizona and Joyce Smith of Rexburg. She is preceded in death by one brother and one sister. We will hold her belated service Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. we will meet at the grave site in Fielding Memorial Cemetery for a prayer and flower service and a second service later Sunday morning up at Big Springs in Island Park, where Ashes of both Faye and Pershing will be scattered.
