Lola Belle Hansen, 86, of Rigby, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 27, 1927, in Driggs, Idaho to Evan Burbank Floyd and Norma Grover Floyd. She was raised and attended schools in Driggs, graduating from Teton High School. On June 18, 1947, she married DeWayne L. “Dutch” Hansen in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. They were blessed with 3 daughters and 2 sons. Over the years, Lola worked for Radee’s Dress Shop in Rigby, for the Jefferson Co-op, Bearing Sales and Service in Idaho Falls and for Jones Custom Meats in Rigby.
Lola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations. She also served as President of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Posse Auxiliary, and was a member of a Pinochle club. She enjoyed quilting, singing with her husband, camping, and snowmobiling. She always made sure she had a good home cooked meal for anyone who visited at mealtime, and she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dutch Hansen, daughters, Diane (Mike) Tomita, Deborah (Jim) Finn, Lori (Jeff) Girton, sons, Jeff (Sandy) Hansen, Kirk D. (Janette) Hansen, all of Rigby, sisters, LaRee Bonn, of Henderson, Nevada, DeEtta Driggs, of Driggs, Ann (Nile) Miner, of Middleton, 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marcia Berger and a grandson, Zach Beard.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Teton Hospice for their gentle hand in caring for Lola.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the Rigby 12 Ward LDS Chapel, 602 Sundance Dr., Rigby. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 pm Wednesday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
