Lonn Eddins, age 94, of Monteview, died at Rexburg Nursing and Rehab in Rexburg, Idaho Sunday September 7, 2008. Lonn was born January 18, 1914, in LaBelle, to George W. Eddins and Sarah Mieklejohn Eddins. He was raised in Lorenzo, Toole, UT, and LaBelle and attended schools in LaBelle. On January 15, 1936, he married Mabel Williams in Rigby. She preceded him in death in November, 1947. On June 5, 1953, he married Opal Monroe in Rigby. He worked for Jess Harrop as a farm laborer, at the Pea House in Rigby, he farmed and Ranched in Monteview and worked as a Farm Hand for Owen Hall in Annis. He made his final home in Monteview. He was a member of the Lions Club and Elks Lodge. Lonn enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, and grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters; Shirlene (Bud) Summers, of Ririe, Barbara (Reid) Smith, of Bakersfield, CA, two sons, Ace Eddins, of Monteview, Brad (Annette) Eddins of Dubois, four brothers; Zane (Pat) Eddins of Monteview, Dempsey (Jewell) Eddins of McCall, Sam Eddins, of Idaho Falls, Lewis (Doris) Eddins, of Boise, seventeen grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and thirty-three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
