Mr. Loren G. Grant Sr., 70, passed away in Rigby, Idaho on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 as a result of ongoing medical issues. His family was by his side as he drifted off to be with the Lord.
He was born to Helen and Thomas Grant on November 8, 1941 in Warroad, Minnesota.
He joined the Navy in 1958. During his time in the service he traveled to Japan, Hawaii, Singapore, and the Philippines. He was Honorably Discharged in 1962 and then began his lifelong career as a carpenter. Loren met his future wife, Mary-Anne Palmer, at a Tupperware party and they were married for 23 years. Loren loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, shooting guns, and taking drives in his van.
Loren is survived by his mom, Helen; son Robert Grant; son Richard Grant; son Ronald Grant; daughter Lori-Anne Gutierrez; daughter Charlene Grant; son Loren Grant Jr.; son Richard Ramirez Grant; sons-in-law, Bernardo Gutierrez and Ben Tofa; daughter-in-law Harley Ramirez Grant; grandchildren, Kent Parrell, Tania Gutierrez, Paul James, Janice James, Danny James, Thomas Gutierrez, Jeffrey Grant, Nicole Grant, Christopher Strum, Alexis Ramirez; brothers, Thomas Grant, and Wayne Grant; sister, Gale Childress and many nephews, nieces and friends. Loren was preceded in death by his father Thomas Grant; and granddaughter Kimberly James.
Memorial services for Loren were held on Saturday August 18, 2012 at a private residence in Rigby, Idaho.
