Loretta Rogers Dodge Johnson, 73, of Idaho Falls, died at her home Sunday, March 12, 2006.
She was born December 20, 1932, in Pocatello a daughter of Guy and Myrtle Jenks Rogers. She grew up and attended schools in Pocatello and Roberts. On March 12, 1952, she married Frank Earl Dodge, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He died November 11, 1957, leaving her with 3 small children to raise. She then married Verle Francis Johnson on June 1, 1960. He died December 28, 2002.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings and worked in the laundry in the Idaho Falls Temple. Loretta was a loving and kind mother, aunt, neighbor and friend and enjoyed making cookies and nick-nacks to give to her neighbors.
She is survived by two daughters: Rosann (Ray) Havey of Ogden, Utah, Linda (Ron) Chase of Ririe, two sons: Frank (Sharon) Dodge of Pocatello, and Verle (Robyn) Johnson Jr. of Roberts,. Esther Fredrickson of Idaho Falls and Newell (Phylliss) Rogers of Nauvoo, Illinois. 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands,one sister Willina and three brothers Armiger, Lavell and Noble.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Idaho Falls 7th Ward LDS Chapel (955 Memorial Drive) with Bishop David Holland officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the services at the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
