Lorette B. Hansen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at the age of 93. Lorette was born March 10, 1917, on Butler’s Island in Rigby, Idaho. She was the third of seven children born to Lydia Jane Roundy and Wells Beck. She grew up in the Rigby area where she graduated from high school. As a youth, she worked at various jobs to help the family.
On July 23, 1938, she married Lee Oal Waters. They resided in Rigby for several years, and then moved to Idaho Falls. They had one daughter and two sons. However, after 23 years of marriage, they divorced. On May 5, 1961, Lorette married Amil Louis “Speed” Weiand. However after 14 loving years of marriage, “Speed” passed away. She then married Milton D. “Mickey” Hansen on August 10, 1978.
She received her real estate license and pursued this career for the next 25 years. She loved working in real estate and was very skillful at it. Also, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings in her younger years. She loved serving others.
She is survived by a daughter, Cammie (Dick) Wilkinson of Idaho Falls; two sons, Wells B. Waters of Phoenix, Arizona, and Reid B. Waters of Idaho Falls; one sister, LaVonne Behrens of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Amil Weiand and “Mickey” Hansen; and five siblings, Lewellyn Beck; Hyrum Elmo Beck; Wells Beck; LaVar Beck; and Grant Beck.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street in Rigby, Idaho. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
