Lorna Lou Kinghorn

Lorna Lou Waters Kinghorn, 87, passed away June 7, 2018, at her home in Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She has returned home to be with her parents. Lorna was born January 4, 1931 to Loran and Inez Crystal Waters in Garfield, Idaho. She traveled around the world with her family as her dad served in the military and graduated from Tokyo High School in Japan. Upon returning to Idaho, she met the love of her life, George Kinghorn. They were married December 21, 1954 and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple April 9, 1958. They were blessed with 6 wonderful children and have been happily married for 63 years. Lorna was an active member in the LDS Church where she served faithfully in many callings. Lorna and George served a mission to Baltimore, Maryland. She loved to serve her family and all those around her. When not at her home in Ucon, Idaho, she enjoyed spending time at her home on the Salmon River where she grew beautiful flowers and loved gardening. Many people have enjoyed the jam and fruit she canned. She loved to quilt and created many cherished quilts for her family. Her beautiful flower cards are treasured by everyone she shared them with. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Loran and Inez Waters, her brother Max Waters, daughter-in-law Yvonne Kinghorn, grandson Josh Kinghorn and great grandson Ethan Davis.

Lorna is survived by her husband George Kinghorn, children John and Debbie Kinghorn of Nampa, ID, Gail and Charlie Lindsay of Moapa, NV, Robert and Judy Kinghorn of Jerome, ID, Loran and Kaylynn Kinghorn of Idaho Falls, ID, Ray and Kathy Kinghorn of Saratoga Springs, UT, Kent and Diane Kinghorn of Idaho Falls, ID, along with 33 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Dixie Wayment of Nampa, ID, Vonnie Wild of Cokeville, WY, Reba Hanson of Boise, ID, Reed Waters of Boise, ID and Ginger Waters of Meridian, ID and sister-in-law Shirley Lee of Idaho Falls, ID. Her family would like to thank Lincoln Court and Hands of Hope Hospice for their wonderful care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 10854 N 41 E . Ucon, Idaho. A viewing will be held Friday, June 15 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home located at 101 W. Main Street in Rigby, Idaho and again Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Ucon Church prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
