Louis Van Dolzer, age 81, of Rigby, died October 3, 2007 at the Idaho Falls Health and Rehab.
He was born July 28, 1926 at Rosemead, California, a son of Peter Van Dolzer and Ferol Caroline Rimer Van Dolzer. He was raised in the Rosemead, California area and attended school in El Monte. Two days after his 17th birthday he joined the United States Navy during WWII. He served on the USS Bennington Aircraft Carrier and also served in the US Air Force for 3 years in Guam and Japan.
December 6, 1945 he married Betty Jane Chittick in Lakewood, California. Louis worked for INEL as a Nuclear Technician and for the Forest Service in the Island Park Area.
He enjoyed collecting guns, had a passion for animals, was always working on a project, and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife Betty, a daughter Kristina Marie (David) Parks of Pocatello, a son, Gary (Linda) Van Dolzer of Kaysville, Utah, a sister Carolyn (Charles) Morgan of Sebeka, Minnesota, a brother Wayne Van Dolzer of Spring, Texas, four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
