Louise Renae Hardy

Louise Renae Paul Hardy, 77, of Mesquite, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at St. George Regional Hospital.

Renae was born on May 18, 1946 at the Rigby Maternity Home to Lisso Paul and Lila Louise DaBell.

She married the love of her life, Timothy J. Hardy on January 4, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Renae found her calling in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Primary Children’s in Salt Lake City for 35 years, specializing in Infant Care and NICU. She has many plaques and awards for her nursing skills not only from Primary Children’s Hospital but also from Intermountain Healthcare.

In 2012, due to an unfortunate and misguided medical procedure, Renae was left permanently dependent on a wheelchair or walker. Yet, she never complained. She found ways to become independent and to take care of herself as much as possible. Renae also insisted on taking care of most home chores: cleaning, cooking, and etc. She enjoyed reading and has a personal library of several hundred books that she’s personally read. Renae also enjoyed scrapbooking and all kinds of creative crafts. But her favorite was to talk on the phone with family and friends—and she had a large number of friends.

She and Tim have had many, many pet dogs and cats during their 41 years of marriage, and each one of their pets absolutely adored her. She loved life and truly was one of the kindest, gentle, and loving persons imaginable.

Renae is preceded in death by her parents, Lisso and Lila Paul. She is survived by her sweetheart, Timothy; brothers Denis Paul of Rigby, Idaho and Sheldon (Jennifer) Paul of Rigby, Idaho; and other family members LeeAnn Miller of Ririe, Idaho, Lennis DaBell of Rigby and Michele Fisher of Baker, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Renae will be greatly missed.

Visitation for Renae will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W Main St Rigby ID 83442).
