Lowell H. Jensen

Lowell H. Jensen, 88, of Idaho Falls, died January 19, 2010, at his home. He was born October 3, 1921, in Independence, Idaho, to Niels Jensen and Hellene Rasmine Hansen Jensen. He was raised and attended schools in Independence, near Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. He continued his education at Ricks College. On April 8, 1942, he married Arda S. Jensen, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He owned a Grade A Dairy in Ucon for 32 years, farmed in Howe for 13 years and owned the Jensen General Store. He Managed the Temple Apartments in St. George, Utah for 9 years, and then moved back to Coltman. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in two Bishoprics, and as a Ward and Stake Clerk. He, along with his wife, served a mission for the LDS Church in 1985 to Roanoke, Virginia. He served on the Challenge Dairy Board for 5 years and played the drums in several dance bands since he was in the 7th grade. He is survived by his wife Arda S. J. Jensen, of Idaho falls, daughters; Darray (Drew) Haight, of Howe, ID, Peggy (Greg) Knox of China, Gail A.(Blair) Sautter, of Idaho Falls, sons; Gary L.(Kathi) Jensen, of Howe, ID, Michael V. (Lisa) Jensen, of Idaho Falls, a brother, Keith Marlin (Marian) Jensen, of Pocatello, 29 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 7 brothers, 1 grandson and a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at The Coltman LDS Church, 12448 N. 5th East, with Bishop Larry Clayton, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, both at the church.
