Lena Lucile Durtschi Edlefsen age 86 of Rigby, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at her home in Rigby. Lucile was born February 13, 1924 at Driggs, Idaho a daughter to Alfred Durtschi and Ida Aeschbacher Durtschi. She married Jesse Rowley Edlefsen May 19, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous church callings with name extraction being one of her favorite. She served a mission with her twin sister to Northern California Mission. She was a member of the Rigby Art Guild, played the violin with Mary Pieper and sang with many local choirs. She was known for her cake decorating abilities and her beautiful quilts. She loved to garden. She was involved in many community musical productions and talent shows. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She spent many years being a caregiver to numerous aging relatives and friends. She is survived by two daughters Kristine (Allen) Day of Ucon, Diane (Doug) Schwartz of Logandale, Nevada, 4 sons, David of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Daniel of Nevada City, California, Matthew of Saratoga Springs, Utah and Philip of Limbo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jesse R. Edlefsen one daughter Mary Alice Smith, two brothers, Arnold and Walter and two sisters Isabell Walker and her twin Lucy Phillips. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby Stake Center with Bishop Richard Harper officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Rigby Stake Center. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia at 3:00 p.m.
