Lyla Fern Howell

Lyla Fern Hansen Howell, 73, of Rigby Idaho, passed away on Thursday June 9, 2022.

She was born on February 6, 1949 in Driggs Idaho to Martel Leslie Hansen and Mae Bell Henderson.

Lyla was a resident of Teton county, and graduated from Teton High School. She married the love of her life, Darrel Howard Howell, on November 17, 1973 in Tetonia Idaho.

Lyla enjoyed being a cook for the Senior Citizen Center and working on her farm. During her life, Lyla lived in Tetonia, St. Anthony and Rigby Idaho.

Lyla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed participating in church softball. Lyla also enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting and leatherworking.

She is survived by her son, Jason Howell of Rigby Idaho, sister Linda Lewis of Idaho Falls, and brother Stephen John Hansen of Tetonia, and three grandchildren, Hunter Ross Howell, Robby (Mia Nelson) Martel Howell, Brian Tucker Howell.

Lyla is preceded by her husband, Darrel Howell, parents Martel and Mae Belle, and siblings Myrna, Joyce, Karen, Colleen, Sherry, Leslie and Teresa.

Graveside services for Lyla Howell will be held on Friday June 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Cemetery. A viewing for friends and family will be prior, at Eckersell Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
