Lyle Arnold Millard

Lyle Arnold Millard, age 82 of Rigby, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Sage Grove Assisted Living. Lyle was born August 14, 1934, at home in Woodville, ID, to Arnold & Emma Millard. He was the 2nd child of the family. Lyle had one older sister, LaRea and a much younger brother, Ferris. Lyle always loved horses, also, he wrangled & broke three or four wild horses on the lava beds, near his home. He loved helping his dad farm on the North Menan Butte. Lyle's true passion, was doing anything outdoors, especially, hunting, fishing and camping. He was always a Tease & loved to make people laugh! Lyle worked at the INL & later, was a manager of Paul Roberts & Kaman Industrial Supply Stores. Lyle was married to his 1st love, Leola Christensen. Together, they had six beautiful children, Chris, Jill, Stan, Bart, Mark & Coy. They later divorced. Lyle met his 2nd love, Connie and were married Jan. 27th, 1965. He adopted Connie's son, Mike. Connie had her 11 yr old brother, Glade, living with her, due to their mother having had a stroke. Lyle was the best Dad, to both boys. Lyle & Connie enjoyed 52 years of marriage together, Hunting, Fishing, Water-skiing, Motorcycling & spending time at their cabin in Island Park. Lyle broke his back 11 years ago, had his right leg amputated 3 years ago, followed by a stroke. Lyle suffered a lot of health issues over the past 11 years, but, Lyle & Connie, still enjoyed a full life together. He will be greatly missed, by all that knew him. Lyle was a member of LDS church. Lyle is survived by his first wife, Leola (Norman) Kelley, Woodville, ID children, Jill (Garland) Davis, Hyrum, UT, Stan (Barbara) Millard, Idaho Falls, ID, Bart (Julie) Millard, Orderville, UT, Mark (Lorene) Millard, Hermiston, OR, Coy (Mark) Worthan, Rathdrum, ID, ex-daughter in law, Sharlene Millard, Garden City, UT, also, one brother, Ferris (Sue) Millard, Poway, CA. Lyle is also survived by his loving wife, Connie of Rigby, ID, son, Michael (Sandra) Millard, Wilmington, OH, Connies brother Glade (Kathie) Oliverson, Flower Mound, TX, also, several grand-children, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Lyle was preceded in death, by his parents, grandparents, sister, LaRea and his 2 1/2 yr old son, Chris, who drowned. A special Thanks, to Sage Grove Assisted Living Center, owners Terry & Amy Rackham, Aspen Hospice & all their caring staff. They all made Lyle's painful years much more bearable. It was almost like being home. Due to Lyle's wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. A "Celebration of Life", will be held later this summer.
