Lynn Ray Boice, age 66, of Burton, died at his home, after a twenty year battle with diabetes, Monday, October 3, 2005. Lynn was born August 22, 1939 in Phoenix Arizona, the son of Lionel Romaine Boice, and Dora Ilene Duke Boice. Lynn attended Longview Elementary School, and graduated from North Phoenix High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University, and Cal State Long Beach, California. Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He married Marilyn Anne Harris May 7, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona L.D.S. Temple.
Lynn served in the United States Navy. He was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk on its maiden voyage, where he served as an electrician. He was a national life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the N.R.A.
Lynn worked with his Father and Brother at Boice Electric in Orange County, California, and for Motorola in Tempe, Arizona for 15 years. He was a licensed realtor in Idaho and California. He sold real estate with Aaron Angel and Jimmy Hamilton in St. Anthony, and had worked for Cal Ranch in Rexburg. Lynn loved fishing, hunting, being with his family in Idaho, and was know for his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Boice, of Rexburg, and two daughters, Debra Lyn (Roark) Beckstead of Huntington Beach, California, and Tiffany Ann (Karl) Snedaker of Lyman, Idaho. He is survived by one brother John W. (Jimmie) Boice of Norco, California. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Tambri, and 2 grandchildren Beth Anne and Jacob.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Burton 3rd. Ward L.D.S. Chapel 3958 W. 2000 S. Rexburg, Idaho with Bishop Tim McGary officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and Friday 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the church in Burton. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery with military rite performed by the Jefferson Veterans Team, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
