Lynn F Dansie

Lynn F. Dansie, 80, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by family on December 19, 2023.   Lynn was born in Rigby on August 21, 1943. He was born to Charles “Jerry” Dansie and Alta Fransen.

Lynn graduated from Rigby High School in 1962.  He served an LDS mission in New England for 2 years.  He Attended LDS Business college for a short time.  He eventually went on to join the National Air Force in 1965.  While there, he served in the medical records department before he was honorably discharged on December 31, 1970.  He loved his time in the service and was very proud to be a veteran.

Lynn was married to Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Stoddard after a short courtship and solemnized their marriage in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 20, 1977.  Lynn and Betty were married for 47 years and lived in Rigby Idaho during that time.  They had 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandson.  He loved his family and spoiled his grandchildren every chance he got; they are his greatest joy.  We will miss his endless number of jokes and sense of humor!

Our family has been amazed at the detailed number of miles he has driven over the years and kept it written down in his pocket planner that he always had in his shirt pocket. He called himself a “Professional Driver”.  He loved to serve those around him and jumped at any chance to drive others around.  He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He attended services faithfully, diligently paid his tithing, and served in many callings.  He was the biggest teller of jokes and greeted everyone with a smile!

Lynn is survived by his wife, Betty Dansie, daughter M. Raelinn (Rich) Segali of Boise, Idaho, son, Todd (Misty) Dansie of Rigby, Idaho, daughter, Tracy (Jarom) Linde of Winter Garden, Florida, son, Andrew (Angela) Dansie of St. Anthony, Idaho, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, 2 brothers, Robert(Kathy) Dansie and Layne (Nova) Dansie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles(Jerry) and Alta Dansie, and 3 siblings, Don, Brent and Lana.

Funeral services for Lynn will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holbrook LDS Stake Center (196 N. 4000 E. Rigby) . A viewing will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a viewing the night prior from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main St. Rigby ID 83442). Interment will be at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
