M. Elizabeth Jensen

January 3, 1919 — September 14, 2008

M. Elizabeth Jensen, 89, of Rigby, passed away September 14, 2008, at the home of her son in Shelley. She was born Jan 3, 1919, in Coltman, Idaho to George William Rasmussen and Ethel Robinson Rasmussen. She attended school in Coltman and graduated from Ucon High School. On November 12, 1941, she married Leon Page Jensen in the Logan LDS Temple. They farmed in Coltman, Shelton, and settled in Clark ward. After retirement they moved to Rigby, in the spring of 1982. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from seminary, served a full time mission in Toronto Canada, served as Primary President, Sunday School Teacher, Relief President, Name Extractor, and was an Idaho Falls Temple Worker for seventeen years. She accompanied The Singing Mothers. Elizabeth loved making beautiful quilts, clothing, crocheting and knitting and enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and her family who express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the ICU at Madison Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Eastern Idaho for their loving care. She is survived by two daughters; Karen (John) Henninger, of Salt Lake City, UT, Wilma (Lee) Jephson of Rigby, two sons; Clyde (Marteen) Jensen of Portland, Alan (Alana) Jensen of Shelley, a sister; Erma (Don) Clifford, of Meridian, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Leon, siblings; Eva, Doris, Joyce, Albert, Elmer, and a grandson; Jay. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the Rigby Stake Center, with Bishop Earl Bishop, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
