Mable Elizabeth Greenwell Leipper 101, of Concord California, died March 11, 2018 at Bridge Of Valley View, Boise, Idaho of natural causes, with family by her side. She was born July 24, 1916, in Madison County, Idaho to Edmund and Mary Ann (Bate) Hill. Her siblings; Howard Hill, Wallace Hill, Blanche Murdock, Delta Hill , Stella Smout, Mary Taylor and Horace Hill had a very wonderful childhood. She grew up on a farm in Madison County, Idaho next to the Snake River. She attended Lyman Union School. Some of her favorite memories were times swimming with her brothers and sisters in the Snake River. She also loved rounding up the cattle on her be-loved horse Ole'Daze. The family bon fires and picnic dinners in the grove of trees by her family's farm house was a favorite of hers. This tradition was carried on for years whenever she visited with her husband and son during their annual summer visits to the farm. She loved to sing in the church choir and at Riverside Garden. In 1931 she sang at KID radio station in Idaho Falls. At the age of 17 she moved to Ogden Utah and lived with her Uncle Ted and Aunt Mae and sang on KSL radio station. She also worked at Snelgroves Ice Cream Parlor in Ogden, Utah for 2 years. In 1935 she moved to San Francisco with her best friend Bea Pinston. She sang at various venues around the Bay Area in the late 1930s and early 1940s. In 1940 she met Edward Frank Greenwell at a LDS church function in the Height Ashbury district of San Francisco. They were married 3 months later on October 19, 1941 and remained married for 26 wonderful years. In 1941 she started working for Wells Fargo Bank and worked there for 11 years till their son Edward Bruce was born. She then took 6 years off from work to raise her son. For the next ten years she worked for Bank of America as a teller. She then went to work for Wells Fargo as operation officer and then as an auditor for 28 years until retiring in 1983. In August 5 1983 she married James Leipper. She met him on the BART train while commuting to and from San Francisco. They loved to travel. They traveled to 28 foreign countries and took many ocean cruises around the world. Mable’s favorite places to visit were Istanbul and Paris. They also shared a love for gardening and spending time with family. Mable's favorite things to do were read and watch scary movies. She loved cats and befriended many during the years she lived in Concord California. In November 2018 at the age of 101 she moved back to Idaho (Boise). Her short time here was enjoyed by all. Her last Christmas in Idaho was like a fairy tale for her. Snow was falling on Christmas Eve and she opened gifts with family on Christmas morning the next day. This time reminded her of Christmas past when she was with her family on the farm in Idaho. Survivors include her son Edward and daughter-in-law Margaret Grandjean-Greenwell of Oxnard California and her grandson William and his wife Sophia Greenwell of Oakland California. Her great grand daughter Dylan lives in Benicia California. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Frank Greenwell, on April 20, 1967 and her husband James Jim Leipper, March 9, 2009. Funeral services will be at 1:00p.m. Friday March 16th at Eckersell memorial Chapel in Rigby, The family will visit with family and friends from 11:30a.m. to 12:45p.m. on Friday March 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be at Annis Little Butte cemetery in Annis, Idaho.
