Marcene Giambra

Marcene Giambra, age 77, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. Marcene was born September 3, 1928, at Rigby, Idaho a daughter of Luther Anderson and Vera Louise Brown Anderson. She attended schools in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed singing in the Church Choir. She married Paul William Shunko in California and they were later divorced. She then married Santo John Giambra in California. She worked as a Dental Assistant in Burbank, California for Dr. Brandon. After moving back to Idaho she worked for Head Start in Idaho Falls as a bus driver for 4 years and as a teachers assistant for 10 years in School District #93. She also worked for Beauty for all seasons for 10 years. She performed in the Idaho Falls Opera and in several plays in Idaho Falls. She was an avid reader, especially enjoyed her grandchildren and had a passion for purple. Survivors include a daughter Kira (James) of Pocatello, a son Damon P. (Galina) Shunko of Kiev, Ukraine, 4 brothers; Blair Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Max (Phylis) Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ted Anderson of Rigby, and Aldon (Jackie) Anderson of Renton, Washington, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Santo John Giambra, brothers, Bernard Anderson and Gale Anderson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ammon 2nd Ward L.D.S. Chapel, 1100 Tie Breaker Drive, with Bishop Jim Flamm officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, Rigby and on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
