Margaret Ellen Free, age 95, of Rigby, passed away in Rexburg, Idaho Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Margaret was born September 3, 1922 in LaBelle, Idaho a daughter to John Hugh Love and Veda Mae Ringle Love. She attended school in LaBelle, graduating from Rigby High School. She married Gale Fred Peterson, December 10, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona. He preceded her in death in February of 1945. She then married James Lawrence Free December 29, 1951 in LaBelle, Idaho who later passed away in 1994. She worked as a telephone operator at Ricks College for 12 years and had a Beauty Shop in her home for years. She liked to grow roses, feeding birds and had a great love of reading having read hundreds of books. She loved going for rides, traveling and going out to eat. She loved playing pinochle and regularly played with a group of her friends. She is survived by her daughter Gale Ann Johnson of Idaho Falls, a son Norman Free of Florence, Oregon and one grandson Ian Free. She was preceded in death by her husband Gale Fred Peterson and husband Lawrence Free and a son Larry Franklin Free. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 17th 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
