Margene Sheppard

Margene Sheppard, 81, of Annis, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg. She was born February, 22, 1929, in Menan, Idaho, to Lawrence Leo Clark and Belva Delsie Miller Clark. She was raised and attended schools in Menan, graduating from Midway High School. On April 21, 1948, she married the love of her life, A. Gail Sheppard in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a Bookkeeper for Menan Co-Op and farmed in the Annis Area with her husband Gail for many years. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including Relief Society, a Temple Worker, and served in the Grand Junction, Colorado Mission, along with her husband in 1989. She enjoyed farming with her husband, gardening, canning, and growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed traveling and has many fond memories of her trips to Hawaii. Margene especially loved spending time with her family which included shopping with her sisters. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She especially enjoyed family cookouts on the river. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Clark) Hansen, of Burton, sons, Richard Gail (June) Sheppard, of Annis, Craig Lee Sheppard, of South Jordan, UT, Larry John (Connie) Sheppard, of Annis, Lynn Archie (Candace) Sheppard, of Annis, sisters, Glenda (Kent) Merrill, of Pocatello, Carolyn (Larry) Lee, of Terreton, brothers, Robert (Fay) Clark, of Menan, Jerry Clark, of Menan, 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She received excellent love and care from the owners and staff while at Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for everything they did for their mother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2010, at the Menan Stake Center with Bishop Gary Sears, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
