Our loving mother, Maria Trinidad Galvan passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. We are already missing her.
Maria was born July 13, 1954 in Penjamo, Mexico, the daughter of Salvador Garcia and Socorro Navarro Garcia. On December 20, 1970, she married Enrique Galvan in Mexico City, Mexico. Together, they moved to the United States of America, settling in Tetonia, Idaho. As their family grew, they moved to Rigby, Idaho and then Menan, Idaho.
Maria helped in supporting her family by working in produce. She has worked for Rigby, Walker, Idaho Pacific and other produce companies. For a time, she was a cook for the Idaho Migrant Council. Her greatest work was her family.
Maria was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Enrique were sealed in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple.
Maria loved her family. Her favorite things to do were to cook for them and reminisce about the old days over coffee and bread. She also loved to crochet and knit.
Maria is survived by her daughter’s: Esmeralda (Randy) Lazono of Rigby, Idaho, Josefina (Ramiro) Barajas of Pullman, Washington, and Cindy (Daniel) Ruesga of Tooele, Utah. Her son’s: Enrique (Lilia) Galvan of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marcos Galvan of Ensenada, Mexico and Victor Galvan of Ensenada, Mexico. Her siblings; Cristina (Chrisantos) Galvan of Michigan, Damiana of Guanajuato, Mexico, and Evangelina (Jaime) Lopez of Wisconsin and Salvador (Carmen) Garcia of Rigby, Idaho. She is blessed with 26 grandchildren with additional on its way, and 10 great grandchildren.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Enrique Galvan and a brother, David Garcia.
A funeral service will be held for Maria on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Menan LDS Church (3547 East Menan-Lorenzo Highway Menan, Idaho 83434), with a viewing for friends and family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Evening viewing services for Maria will be on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main St Rigby ID 8342). Interment will follow the funeral service at Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
