Maria Anne Groom

Maria Anne Groom, age 50 of Idaho Falls, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at New Beginnings Girls Home. She was born August 28, 1963, in Rigby, Idaho to Gordon Kenneth Groom and Janice Anne Johnson Groom. She attended Child Development Center in Idaho Falls and graduated from several special needs programs. She worked at Development Workshop in Idaho Falls for many years. Maria was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved bowling, and participating in Special Olympics. She enjoyed doing embroidery, spending time with her family and friends, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mark Gordon Groom. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street in Rigby. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
