Marie Browning Strong

Marie Browning Strong, 89, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away on May 19, 2026, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital surrounded by family.

She was born on February 9, 1937, in Rigby, Idaho, to Lyle Frederick Browning and Velma Charlotte Harmon Browning. She grew up in Rigby and graduated from high school there.

Marie was married to Lawrence L. Strong. Throughout her life she lived in several places including Annis, Idaho; Archer, Idaho; Rigby, Idaho; West Virginia, California; Washington; Nevada; and Montana.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations. She loved her church and enjoyed serving others.

Marie enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Treena M. Strong Gasser of Rigby, Idaho; her grandsons, James Strong of Rigby, Idaho and Josh Sharp of Santa Maria, California; her stepson Wade Strong of Madelia Minnesota; along with 3 grandchildren, 27 step grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 7 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Strong; her son, Bradley Sharp; her parents, Lyle and Velma Browning; her sisters, Shirley and Ella Mae; and her brothers Harmon, Royce, and Ted.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Stake Center. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home. Interment follow at the Annis Cemetery.
