Marilyn H. Holley, 84, recently of Gig Harbor, Washington, died November 15, 2012, at home, of a lingering illness.
She was born in 1928, in Idaho Falls, to Charles Oscar and Alice Hamblin Hart. She attended schools in Menan, Rigby, and Rexburg. She graduated from Ricks College and attended BYU.
She was employed at Idaho Bank of Commerce / Valley Bank for 44 years, and lived nearly her entire life in the Rexburg, Rigby and Idaho Falls areas. During the last year and a half of her life, she lived in Gig Harbor, Washington, near her only son, Stephen, and his family.
A member of the LDS church, she often taught children’s classes in her younger years. Her favorite activities included shopping, flower gardening, house cleaning, and eating sweets.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Holley, daughter-in-law, Leslie Holley, and grandchildren Aubrey, Ashlynn, and Maxwell Holley, all of Gig Harbor, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents and all six of her siblings, Gayle, Ramona, Lynn, Richard, Rita, and Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, November 24th 2012, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main, Rigby, with Bishop Terry Tingey officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00pm to 8:30pm Friday, and one hour prior to services on Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
