Marion Wendell Blakely, age 90 of Ririe, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at The Gables of Ammon. Marion was born November 22, 1925, in Heise, Idaho to Joseph Collins Blakely and Alice Callings Blakely. He was raised and attended schools in Heise and Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School. He served in the US Army Air Corps. On June 16, 1955, he married Bonnie LuZon Hardy in Jackson, Wyoming; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 6 children. Marion farmed and ranched in the Heise area. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Finance and Membership Clerk, in the Sunday School Presidency and in the High Priest Group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Ann (Tom) Green, of Indian Valley, Idaho, sons, Bobby Wayne (Molly) Bell, of Rigby, Idaho, Ronald Ray (Cindy) Bell of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Alan Richard Blakely, of Ririe, Idaho, Marion Clay (Tammy) Blakely of Iona, 30 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie, a daughter, Renee, great-grandson, Teegan Fried, sisters Geneva, Vera, Mable, Bernice, brothers, Lawrence, Warren and Quintin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Ririe LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
