Marion H. Davis, Loving Mom, and Grandmother passed away Tuesday, November, 15, 2011, at Lincoln Court Assisted Living Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 14, 1927 in Bonnyrigg, Scotland, the oldest of ten children born to William Watson and Mary Tait Watson. In 1945, during WWII, she met and married Francis E. Davis in Bonnyrigg, Scotland. She came to the United States in 1946 with their oldest child; three more children were added to this union. They lived in Lemhi Valley, Idaho, and eventually made their home in Rigby. Her husband passed away in August of 1994 and she moved to Lincoln Court in June of 2010.
She worked as a school lunch lady in Roberts, and Fairview school, and helped at the Rigby schools as well. She also worked at Idaho Fresh Pack in the lab and at Makami Brother’s Potato Company on West River Road. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and caring for her yard and home. Most dear to her were her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Mary (Monte) Olson of Idaho Falls, Bill (Amy) Davis of Idaho Falls, Barbara Sutton of Sacramento, California, Ellen (Steve) Solari of El Mirage, Arizona, one sister, Mary McKenzie and five brothers Bill Watson, John Watson, Rae Watson, Frank Watson, and David Watson all of Bonnyrigg, Scotland, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Watson, her husband Francis E. Davis, two sisters, Jean Furniss and Lorn Brown and a brother Robert Watson.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Lincoln Court and One Source Hospice for the loving care given to Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration or memorial of your choice.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
