Marjorie Helen O’Dell, 89 of Victor passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016. Marjorie Helen Gorton O’Dell was born in Hamilton, New York on June 16, 1926. She was the oldest of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death. She was the daughter of Marion D. Gorton and Lillian Perry Gorton. She married Ivan E. O’Dell on August 7, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. They lived in many places while Ivan served in the military. Her daughters Lynda and Karen were born in Madison, New York; the family lived there for three years before being stationed at St. John’s, Newfoundland. While living there Marjorie lost a baby girl during child birth. Later they moved to Georgia where their daughter Donna was born, they lived there for five years. Ivan was stationed at McCord Air Force Base where his plane crashed in a routine training mission in 1968. Marjorie then married Myles Dustin in 1969. She helped raise Myles’ three children; Tim, Jennifer and Rebecca, she grew to love them very much. Later Myles and Marjorie divorced and she later married Ralph Plank, he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Catholic Church. In June of 2014 she became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marjorie loved playing golf and bridge and loved to sew and make many crafts. She lived with her daughter Donna in her last years; they enjoyed reading and shopping together. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Karen Thomas, Donna (Brent) Woolstenhulme, grandchildren, Patricia (John) Brown, Donna (Chris) Carlson, Christina Garner, Heather (Shannon) Bailey, Terrance Garner, Amber (Brian Morris, Tara (Tom) Jensen, fourteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-greatchild. She was preceded in death by her all of her siblings, an infant daughter, and daughter Lynda and her husband Ivan. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Victor 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to funeral services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery.
