Mark Sheldon McConnell, 42, of Rigby, died Friday, October 1, 2010.
He was born June 8, 1968, in Wurzburg, Germany to Sheldon Loren McConnell and DaLee Andersen McConnell. He was raised and attended schools in Idaho Falls, and graduated from high school in Elko, Nevada. On November 7, 1998, he married Jamie Sue Osborne, they later divorced. He worked as a chef at Denny’s in Layton, managed various restaurants in Utah, drove cement trucks in SLC, Utah for 12 years, worked as a salesman for Rigby Chevrolet for 6 months and drove delivery truck for Pepsi.
Mark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and building rockets with his son, Chris.
He is survived by his mother, Dalee Hansen, of Rigby, a daughter, Kaylee Sue McConnell,a son, Christopher Sheldon McConnell, both of Twin Falls, sister, Michelle (Bob) Valdez, of Tetonia, brothers, Michael McConnell of Elko, Nevada, Colin McConnell, of Anchorage, Alaska, and step-mother, Deborah McConnell, of Wendover, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, in Rigby.
