Mark James Tanner, age 51, of Shelley, formerly of Menan and Roberts, died Wednesday,
October 16, 2002, near Rawlins, Wyoming.
Mark was born June 16, 1951, at Palisades, Idaho, a son of James LeRoy Tanner and
Ollen Augusta Morgan Tanner. He attended schools in Menan and graduated from Rigby High
School. He married Donna Jean Gunderson August 7, 1998, at Shelley, Idaho. He attended the
Police Academy in Pocatello, Idaho and worked as a police officer for the cities of Roberts and
Menan.
He drove truck for Idaho Fresh Pak, Dial Trucking, Cedar Point Trucking, Idaho Supreme
and Eagle Ridge Trucking. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include his wife Donna Jean Tanner of Shelley, Idaho,
a step daughter Paula (Clint) Anderson of Shelley, Idaho
a step son Kelley (Paula) Villeneuve of Shelley, Idaho
and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., in Menan 1st Ward LDS
Chapel with Bishop Spencer Kelsey officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday,
October 18, 2002, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on
Saturday for one hour prior to services at the Menan 1st Ward Church. Burial will be in the
Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lions Club Idaho
Eye Bank. Contributions can be handled through your local Lion’s Club.
