Marla Jo Hurst

Marla Jo Hurst, 68, of Menan, Idaho, passed away at her residence on April 8, 2026.

Marla was born to DeMar Hall Andersen and LaReta Decker Andersen. She attended Rigby schools and graduated from Rigby High School in 1976. She later graduated from Excelsis Beauty College.

Throughout her life, Marla worked in a variety of roles. She retired from Jefferson County as a Finance Clerk serving 24+ years. She worked for many years at Stop & Go. Additionally, she worked as a nanny in New Jersey and in southern Utah at NAPA Auto Parts.

Marla enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She was involved with the Lions Club, food bank, and loved embroidery and crocheting. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her love of singing, often sharing her beautiful voice at funerals and community events. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including temple ordinance worker, visiting teacher, ministering sister, and activities committee.

She is survived by her siblings: Gaye Lynn Law (Darrell “Doc”) of Rigby, Idaho; Jeffery Decker Andersen (Nancy) of Rigby, Idaho; and William LaMar Andersen (Cris) of Rigby, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Menan Stake Center, 698 N, 3600 E, Menan, Idaho. A viewing will be held Sunday, April 19, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. There will also be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will follow at the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
