Marlen Dallas Andersen

Marlen Dallas Andersen, 64, of Rigby, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at his home. He was born December 26, 1943, at Rigby, a son of Milton Waters Andersen and Mary Ardell Hunsaker Andersen. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby. February 2, 1964 he married Judie Oakden in Orange County, CA. They later divorced. February 21, 2008 he married Tracy Lynn Ricks at Rigby. He farmed in the Clark Area, worked in CA and PA building swimming pools and also worked for H & K Construction for several years. He was a member of the National Cutter Association and was the starter at several horse racing tracks in Eastern Idaho. He enjoyed cutter racing, playing pool, fishing with his best friend, Gene Olsen, and spending time with his family, wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Andersen of Rigby; Daughters, Wende (Todd) Covington of Rigby, Marcie (Chris) Johnson of Rexburg, Jamie (Dan) Heilmann, of Rexburg, a son, Waylen Andersen, of Idaho Falls, step-daughters, Elizabeth Ricks of Idaho Falls, Lisa (Joe) Ybarra, of Ucon, sisters, Carol Krantz of Rigby, DaLee Hansen of Rigby, Judy (Nate) Bridges of Rigby, Rhonda (David) Simmons of Spanish Fork, UT, Debra K. Johnson of Centennial, CO, brothers, Richard (Linda) Andersen of Georgia, Dennis (Angie) Andersen of Rigby, Darius (Noreen) Andersen of Rigby, Gaylen Andersen of Rigby, Kim Andersen of Rigby, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pamela Garland, brothers, Larry Andersen, and Kyle Andersen, grandparents, Albert Andersen, Vida Waters, James Andersen and Nora Cutler. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Rigby 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 N. 4100 E. Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
