Marvin Russell Johnson

Marvin Russell Johnson age 56, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on December 19, 2024.

Marvin was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on September 22, 1968 a son to Russell and Letha Waters Johnson. He grew up going to elementary school in Roberts, Idaho and later graduated from West Jefferson High School.

Marvin was married to Marta Velasquez who passed away. Marvin then married Andrew Allred. He worked at University of Utah Dialysis where he later retired. During Marvins adult life he lived in Chiquimula, Guatemala, Roberts, Idaho, and Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Marvin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved Fishing with Cole, repairing cars, working with his horses, and loved being with his grandchildren. Marvin was always helping wherever he could. He was a real handy man, helping his brothers and sisters with their projects. He was instrumental in helping young men and young women who have been homeless and been struggling with life’s troubles get back on their feet and improve their life. While working at the University of Utah Dialysis he was instrumental in designing and installing soft water system in several new centers in Idaho and Utah. He worked as a technician and then as the mechanic for the machinery and the handy man for the centers.

Marvin is survived by his husband Andrew Allred of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his son Marvin Arturo Johnson of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Sisters Verdene Page, Rue Ann (Roy) Yearsley of Terreton, Idaho, Denice (Merrill) Tea of Lewisville, Idaho, Sylvia Wagstaff of Bountiful, Utah. Brothers Lyndon (Bonnie) Hall of Ammon, Idaho, Delwin Hall of Roberts, Idaho, and his four grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Russell Johnson, and Letha Waters Johnson, brothers Emmett Hall, Rulon Hall, brother-in-laws Kyle Page, Dewey Wagstaff, grandfather Francis Sylvester Johnson, grandmother Ella Eliza Harris, grandfather Reuben Armenius Waters, and grandmother Emma Louize Pugmire.

Services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 2:00 PM at Eckersell Funeral Home. Visitation prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 PM. Interment will follow at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
