Mary Abbott

Mary Clough Abbott, age 75, of Rigby, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Pine Brook Assisted Living in Rigby. Mary was born November 30, 1935 at Ogden, Utah a daughter to Henry Jessop Clough and Ethal Millar Clough. She attended Huntsville, Utah Grade School and Jr. High and graduated from Weber High School in Ogden, Utah. She married Dean J. Abbott August 20, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked with her husband in Abbotts Variety for many years. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served as Primary President and in the Ward and also served in the Stake Relief Society. She enjoyed family events, camping, and fishing and whatever Dean was doing; helping others brought her great joy and she was a very good cook. She is survived by her husband Dean Abbott of Rigby, one daughter Deborah (Wallace) Felsted of Farmington, Utah, two sons, Michael Dean Abbott and Steven Jay (Aloy) Abbott both of Rigby, four sisters Peggy Adams of Ogden, Utah, Patty Castillon of Green River, Wyoming, Polly Meadows of Layton, Utah and Pracilla Taylor of California, one brother Laurence Clough of Hollbrock, Idaho, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rigby East Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
