Mary Mae Boyce Small, 94, of Dubois, Idaho, passed away on December 2, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. She was born on December 7, 1930, to Charles Fred Boyce and Coral Aretta Sant.
Mary Mae attended school in her early years and later worked for the U.S. Forest Service planting trees, as well as driving potato truck for Walstrom Farms.
She enjoyed flower gardening, the outdoors, ranching, and chokecherry picking. She loved doing genealogy and supporting her boys in rodeo, especially traveling to the NFR. Her greatest joy came from being a grandma and cheering on her grandchildren in their high school activities. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mary Mae is survived by her daughter, Patricia Small of Dubois, Idaho; her sons, Gordon Small, Fred “Butch” Small, and Kevin Small, all of Dubois, Idaho; and her sister, Beverly Williams of Fort Hall, Idaho. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Leland Small, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dubois LDS Chapel, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Small Cemetery.
