Mary Jean Cook Stringham, age 75, of Milo, died at home, Saturday, December 9, 2006.
Mary was born March 27, 1931, at Garfield, a daughter to John William and Mary Helena Ritchie Cook. She married Robert Lee Stringham, July 17, 1953 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in the Ward and Stake Relief Society, Mutual and Primary. She wrote and directed several pageants and plays. She served a mission for the LDS Church in the Idaho Falls Temple. She owned and operated the Menan Market Grocery Store, worked for Miskin Scraper Works in Ucon and the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls. Her life was dedicated to serving others.
She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Stringham of Milo, three daughters; Peggy (Russ) Rowberry of Idaho Falls, Christine (Kevin) Forbush of Shelley and Teresa (Jim) Kruckeberg of Idaho Falls, two sisters Ila (Ronald) Sellers of California and Ethlyn (Ray) Christensen of Idaho Falls, four brothers: William (Betty) Cook of Washington, Melvin (Patsy) Cook of Washington, Dale (Vesta) Cook of Idaho Falls and Don (Ruth) Cook of Utah, 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Angela Stringham, and a sister Ruth Cook.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Milo LDS Church. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday December 12, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held in the Ucon Cemetery.
