Maurice “Moss” Lindstrom Jr., age 79 of Menan, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at his home.
Moss was born March 20, 1933, in Lewisville, Idaho a son of Maurice Lindstrom and Thelma Briggs Lindstrom. He was raised and attended school at Lewisville, Midway High and graduated from Rigby High School. He excelled in basketball, football and baseball.
Moss married Connie Ashment on August 3, 1956 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. Moss worked for the INEL as a metallurgist retiring after 35 years. Moss also inspected seed potatoes and worked for the Jefferson County Landfill for many years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a second counselor in a bishopric, scout master and teacher. Moss joined the Army in May of 1953 and served during the Korean War until April of 1955.
Moss enjoyed all sports, fishing, golfing, hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Moss is survived by his wife Connie Lindstrom of Menan, two daughters, Sandra Kay (Mike) Millard of Willmington, Ohio, Christi Lyn (Kevin) Nieffenegger of Meridian, Idaho, two sons, Michael R. (Amy) Lindstrom of Boise, Idaho, Steven Kent (Pilar) Lindstrom of Grafenwoehr, Germany, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Moss was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter Lisa Diane.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Menan Stake Center at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Gary Asper conducting. The family will meet with friends on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to the service on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. till 12:45 p.m. at the Menan Stake Center. Burial will be in the Lewisville cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
