Maxine C. Oliverson Anderson, 73 of Rigby passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Cindy, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. She was under the loving care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice/Janiel Campbell. She was born June 7, 1939, in Franklin, Idaho the fifth of seven children, to George Lynn Oliverson and Ila C. Christensen Oliverson. She was raised and attended schools in Franklin and Preston, Idaho, graduating from Preston High School. She continued her education at Utah State University, studying computer Science. She also graduated from Excelsis Beauty College in 1959. She owned and operated Maxine’s Beauty Salon in Rigby for over 40 years. In 1959 she married Lanny Ross Anderson, they later divorced. Maxine was active in the Rigby Senior Citizens Center serving on the board of directors, was site manager for 12 years and did volunteer work for many years. She was an active member of AA and sponsored many members. She is a current member of The Rigby Lions Club and enjoyed participating in Santa For Seniors. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dennis) Gilson, son, Monte (Brandy) Anderson, daughter, Lana (Vernon) Atkinson, all of Rigby, sister, Connie (Lyle) Millard, of Rigby, brother Glade (Kathy) Oliverson, of Flowermound Texas, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friend, LaVar Haslam. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, and special friend, AB Drake. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Rigby 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 401 West 1st South, Rigby, with Bishop George Olaveson, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
