Maxine was born May 17, 1925 in Rigby to Charles Johnson and Ibra Valentine “Tiny” Parks Johnson. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby. She graduated from Rigby High School in 1943. She married C. Herbert Christensen on February 23, 1946 in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. This marriage was an extraordinary 66 years long.
A master at many jobs, crafts and hobbies, hand quilting was her all time favorite. Her quilting acquired her many acquaintances and friends as they would meet to laugh, sew and nibble on the newest recipe a friend brought by. She loved her bowling leagues and going with Herb on weekend fishing trips. Sitting around a campfire, cooking the fish Herb caught and making the world’s greatest chili was every family member’s sweetest memory. Maxine was a devoted wife, mother to nieces and nephews whom many she considered her grandchildren.
Maxine’s sweet smile, disposition and energy will be greatly missed by all. Treasures are hard to find but all who knew her found one in her.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Herb Christensen of Rigby.
