Maxwell Fredrick Beyeler

Maxwell Fredrick Beyeler age 89, of Rigby, passed away on November 1, 2007 at his home. He was born May 15, 1918 at the John Hart ranch at Wardboro, Idaho. His parents were Frederick Beyeler and Lena Watson Beyeler. He had the following brothers and sisters: Virginia (Harvey) Kennington, Elmo (Melba) Beyeler, Gordon (Thelma) Beyeler, and the twins, Fay (Dale) Call, Ray (Elinor) Beyeler. Max attended grade school at Fairview, Wyoming and high school at Afton, Wyoming. He had many special teachers and he often spoke of the good influence they had on his life. Max was raised on a ranch where he learned the value of work and the importance of working together as a family. He spent many hours out in the hills herding their sheep and had a great appreciation for the beauties of nature. On June 8, 1939 Max married his sweetheart, Reva Swenson in the Logan LDS temple. They lived most of their lives in Idaho where they ranched and raised registered Hereford and Highland cattle. Max and Reva were the parents of eight children: Kerry (Brenda) Beyeler, Sharon (Dennis) Harris, Merrill (Sharal) Beyeler,Diane (Bob) Benzley, Ellen (Kal) Parmer, Blake (Helen) Beyeler, Sundy (George) Watanabe, and Rebecca (Joe) Hyde Throughout his life, besides working for himself, Max had many different jobs. He worked on ranches, herded cattle for a Cattle Association, and during World War II, for one winter, he was employed at the Chemical War Depot at St. John, Utah. After he moved to Menan, Idaho, Max was hired by Cache Valley Breeding Association as an AI Technician. While living at Leadore, besides running his own ranch, Max continued his AI work, was a guide and cook at Ken Strickler’s Hunting Camp, packed supplies for a geologist, night calved for Jim Ellsworth, and was always willing to help others. Max was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He held the office of High Priest and had many church callings. He was a Scout Master, Superintendent of Sunday School, Ward Clerk, First Counselor in the Bishopric, Employment Specialist, High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Executive Secretary, Ward Membership Clerk and he and Reva worked together in Primary, served together in the Stake Extraction Program, and served a two-year Stake Mission together. Max enjoyed reading, writing poetry, drawing and painting pictures, composing songs, one especially for his great-granddaughter, Ashley, playing his harmonica, training and working with his ponies, raising registered Highland and Hereford cattle, ranching, helping with ward temple assignments, serving in the church, and most of all being with his wife and family and appreciating the love and happy times together. He is survived by his wife, five daughters, three sons, fifty grandchildren, ninety great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 at Rigby East Stake Center, with Bishop Brett Olaveson, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
