Megan Eliza Bennett, 29, passed away peacefully in the tiny home she always dreamed of owning, on the evening of June 9, 2026.
Born on April 10, 1997, Megan lived a life full of faith, love, kindness, charity, and heartwarming goofiness. Megan had dreams. She was able to fulfill a handful of those dreams, such as living in Hawaii (for a short time in college), becoming a mother, buying a tiny home, and writing a book. Many other dreams, such as becoming a marine biologist, living long term in a place with palm trees and an ocean breeze, and watching her children grow to adulthood, are not forgotten or wasted endeavors. No, these dreams have simply changed. Megan can now study the beauties and wonders of God's creations straight from the master’s hand, relax in hammocks of clouds in a spiritual paradise, and watch over and protect her daughters from beyond the veil.
Megan had a sweetness and a happiness that surrounded her since she was a small child. It felt like the sun shined just a bit brighter whenever she was around. She cared about her friends and her family with a love and kindness that oozed with the pure love of Christ. She was always quick to find the good in situations, and slow to complain. She went out of her way to make sure that you were okay, even during times where she herself was struggling immensely.
A devastating sickness plagued Megan’s sweet body while she was still far too young. She marched head first through these challenges, fighting with a strength and zeal that not only inspired hundreds, but that also continued to surprise all of those who loved her so much. She fought the fight for longer than anyone could have asked for, proving to us all that she loved us enough to continue to suffer through pain and sickness that was so difficult to bear.
Friends and family will remember Megan for the way that she made them feel. To Megan, you were important. She was thoughtful, generous, kind, and quick to offer her help in times of need. She had the uncanny ability to find light, even in the darkest corners, and seemed to always bring smiles and a stupid joke that could lift even the weariest of souls. Those who were fortunate enough to know her were taught that even in the most difficult of trials, there is happiness to be found.
Megan is survived by her husband, two beloved daughters, her parents, her siblings, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by many loved ones who welcomed her home into heavenly arms.
A celebration of Megan’s life will be held on Monday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. the Menan Stake Center, 698 N 3600 E. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 5:00 -6:30 p.m., and prior to the service Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. both at the stake center, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the remarkable person she was.
Though her time with us was far too short, Megan’s legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the countless smiles she inspired. She will be remembered always as a source of sunshine, kindness, and unconditional love.
Till we meet again, on the shores of heavenly oceans, under divine palm trees of our celestial home.
