Melinda Lee Scott

Melinda Lee Scott, age 45, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away Thursday, May 01, 2025, at her mother’s home in Ucon, Idaho.

Melinda was born December 31, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter to Bruce Scott and Connie Sommers. She graduated from Bonneville Highschool.

She Married Travis Ashbocker and later divorced in 2008. She worked at Teton Toyota, and lived in Ucon, Idaho Falls, and Rigby.

Melinda has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a part of CAP and Antibullying Groups.

She loved flying, playing the piano, reading, picking huckleberries, putting together puzzles, and crafts of any kind.

Melinda is survived by her mother Connie Jean Sommers Scott, of Ucon, Idaho, her daughters, Takyra Jo Ashbocker (Colter), of Pocatello, Idaho, Addisyn Lee Ashbocker, of Rigby, Idaho, Tiffany Nora Boam, of Rigby, Idaho, Bailey Paige Boam, of Rigby, Idaho. One Sister, Cindy (Marvin) Jorgensen of Fairbanks, Alaska, and two brothers, Shawn (Dorothy) Scott of Idaho, and Rolf (Sally) Hanson of Utah. Her grandmother, Mila Jean Sommers, of Rigby, Idaho, and her adopted family Becky and Kerry Thomas and their children Gage, Lacie, Colter, and Shelby.

She is preceded in death by her father Bruce Scott, and her grandpa Gail Sommer.

Funeral Services will be Saturday May 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ucon Ward Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 10854 N 41st E, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401. There will be a viewing Friday May 16, 2025, from 6:00-7:30, at Eckersell Funeral Home. The family will also meet with friends from 9:30-10:45 prior to the service at the church. The interment will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
