Merle DeRoche, 85 of Lewisville, died April 24, 2008, at the Homestead Assisted Living Center of Rigby.
She was born July 20, 1922, at Alta Wyoming, a daughter of Rhodum Stanley Jackson and Johanna Leone Beard Jackson. She attended schools in Alta Wyoming and Teton Basin.
September 8, 1942, she married Clarence Alexander “Bud” DeRoche in Rigby, Idaho. And lived in Lewisville for most of her married life. She worked for Taylor Produce, Clements Brothers Produce, and Ucon Produce then retired from Idaho Fresh Pak in 1986.
She was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Visiting Teacher. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 1004. Merle enjoyed bowling in the Rigby Bowling league, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, knitting, crocheting, and horses. She especially loved her grandkids.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Shane) Barzee of Lewisville, a brother Darrell (Thelma) Jackson of Rigby, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, a daughter, Sandy, two sisters, Estile Tolley and Mary Ellen Romney, three brothers, Elwin, Elwood and Ralph Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and one hour prior to services, both at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
